Blog #8: Just relax...
By: Rameek Blake
Last semester, I took this photo roughly around finals and at that time it was very stressful. Studying, quizzes, and also balancing my job schedule caused me to have a very hectic schedule. One thing I did to help deal with this was go outside and explore while skateboarding and taking photos with friends. Whenever you’re stressed or feeling like everything is out of your control, what do you do to relax and calm yourself down?
If I can’t go outside or skate, I also spend roughly around 10-15 minutes just playing guitar as a short break away from school and work.
Very nice photo, Rameek. Definitely captures the spirit of your post. How do I relax and escape? I'm the type of person that simply CANNOT relax unless things are done. So sadly, the typical serene escape (as pictured above) makes me even more anxious once I return home knowing my unfinished duties await me.
ReplyDeleteI've learned to deal with the stress by keeping myself active in a productive way like cleaning, deleting emails, organizing stuff, etc. (I know, sounds very exciting). But those little not-so stressful tasks actually help me relax so much more at the end of the day.
That photo is so relaxing in itself and is making me want to go for a walk! When I'm feeling stressed out and feel like I cant control anything going on around me my quickest response to that emotion is to pray. When I pray I feel most at peace but also going outdoors definitely helps me clear my head. So getting some fresh air, working out, and praying are all ways I like to relieve some of my stress.
ReplyDeleteMost of the time I don't stress out that much overall but whenever I feel the need to relax or cool off, I'd either listen to music, play video games or go for a walk. Very nice picture by the way.
ReplyDeleteWhen I am stressed, I talk to my parents to relax. Communication and sleeping really helps me feel better. When I take a good nap, I am usually more stress free and focused on what I am trying to take control over.

Whenever I feel stressed I usually watch something online, go for a drive, take one of 5 mile walks and listen to a podcast, do some sort of craft, or I just take a nap. Being able to space out my work and time management is very helpful to not over work myself and save me the stress.
ReplyDeleteNice photo! Whenever I feel stressed I like to paint, draw in my sketchbook, ride my bike and also take photos. I also find listening to music relaxing. It really helps reduces my stress levels more than anything

Really great photo, sometimes I get very stressed over things that really don't matter too much in the grand scheme of things. Whenever I'm stressed I usually talk to my friends, go out with my friends or play video games with them. As you can see my friends are usually the ones I go to when I'm stressed. I would never tell them that but secretly talking to my friends definitely takes my mind off of anything I'm stressed about and gives me time to process whether I should really be stressing out so much over the topic at hand.
ReplyDeleteSuper cool photo, whenever im super stressed and need to just relax I usually put on a crappy movie or watch something that can take my mind of whatever is stressing me out.
ReplyDeleteI stress myself out a lot because I obsess over the things I need to get done. I'm working on this, but at the end of the day I'm a perfectionist and want everything done the right way. I can tell when it starts to get to be too much, when this happens I take 30 minute to an hour for myself. Sitting outside, going for a drive, going to the gym, or even just watching Netflix in my room by myself works best for me.

We all needed something that we can hold onto it and if that picture was the one thing that kept you sane during finals and covid then thank you for sharing it with us because obviously it was a big impact for you.

I am definitely more of a high stress person, even though it is self-inflicted from procrastination. The best thing that I have found to do when very stressed is to go on a drive and listen to music. This is something me and my friends do all the time, and it really does help to take your mind off of a lot of things.
